• Woodwork.

  Following the children’s interests we had a wordworking afternoon where the children used their imaginations to create trains, cars, aeroplanes and even a robot squirrel 🐿

  

• Firefighter visit.

  We really enjoyed a visit and talk from the fire service. We all got to try on the clothes, put on the hoses and learnt how to keep safe with regards to fire. 

  

• Opening our door for Mother’s Day.

  It was so lovely to be able to welcome our parents in for a special Mother’s Day treat. 

  

• Alan the Alligator.

  Alan the Alligator now has a new rucksack for his trips to visit the dentist. If you have an appointment coming up please let us know so that Alan the Alligator can go with you. He also loves having his photo taken with your child which get displayed on the wall at Kindergarten. 

  

• Heathy eating.

  We feel it is very important that the children at kindergarten are introduced to a wide variety of foods. Aswell as lots of different fruits and vegetables at snack time we like the children to prepare and try new and varied dishes and a big focus this year is healthy eating. We find getting the children involved in the preparation of their own food encourages them to try new dishes. We recently made a very tasty hidden vegetable sauce to go with pasta that everyone enjoyed. 

  

• Oral health

  At kindergarten oral health is something we are able to work alongside you with. It is a priority for us to promote good practice in regard to food and drink and we spend time talking with the children about the best drinks and food to eat to combat tooth decay. We also use a puppet ‘Alan the Alligator’ that is able to visit the dentist with the children if you wish. Please let us know when you have an appointment so that you can borrow Alan.

• New canopy

  We are loving our new canopy at kindergarten and we are all spending more time in our outdoor area in all weathers.

  

• Visit from a lamb

  We were very lucky to have a visit from a lamb at kindergarten.

  

• Stay and play

  The kindergarten will be hosting a stay and play session on Friday 11th June from 10.00-11.30 for parents/ carers with babies, toddlers and preschoolers. This is a free event and due to Covid restrictions we will operate a booking in system prior to arriving as we have a limit to the amount of people attending. 

• Toddler toilets

  The kindergarten were very lucky to receive £1000 from Tesco’s to support our toilet project. It really has been so beneficial to the children and the staff are delighted that the children have more opportunities to be independent.
